GREAT NEWS!

We have our next PNG trip dates set for Feb-Mar 2027, and a BIG answer to prayer - We'll now be able to serve at Kudjip Hospital for two months EVERY YEAR!

For those newer to our Missions story, Rachel and I first served in Papua New Guinea for one year after I completed Pediatric Residency in 2014. I worked full time at Kudjip Hospital earning a crash-course in missionary medicine while Rachel was the "MK School" teacher for a wonderful group of missionary kids.

We then returned to PNG with very young children in 2020 right before the pandemic was declared and served for an exciting three months. Our 3rd trip was in 2023 and 4th (most recent) trip in 2025. The model we were CALLED to follow was to serve for three months every other year to help offset the three month home assignment of our full time missionary colleagues. BUT, our long term hope and goal was to someday increase our serving to a consistent annual trip - and now it is becoming a reality! Praise God!

We anticipate our annual two month PNG trip will be a welcome help for our Kudjip missionary family while also being a predictable timetable that everyone (Stateside and in PNG) will more easily get used to. 

If you would like to JOIN US in the Mission Field, please keep our trip preparations in prayer (applications, flight arrangements, visas, etc) and please consider partnering with us by donating towards our cost of flights, food, lodging, and Kudjip community outreach. Yes, we LOVE putting any extra funds to work for the Kingdom while we're at Kudjip - including food and supplies for the local orphanage, dental work or glasses for locals in need, meals for fellow missionaries, and the ongoing work of helping rebuild our local Mise Church (see picture update below). 

There's a great Bible verse (Matthew 6:21) that says "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." After many years of missionary work and raising $upport to go, we can attest that this verse absolutely applies to folks investing into missionaries. Your HEART will be with us in the mission field when you have devoted your treasure to the cause! (And of course, your gifts via our 501(c)(3) accounts are tax deductible.)

For those of you who have been following and/or financially contributing toward the MISE LOTU church rebuilding project, the latest pictures below show AMAZING stone work of the completed walls, including a beautiful window cross that will bring in light behind the pastor's podium. With the latest fund donations, they will now be able to purchase materials for the roof and potentially have the building complete by the time we return in February.

Hello All, I was recently employed by World Trade Press to collect and submit twenty "PNG Proverbs" for their AtoZ World Culture online resource. Over the years WTP has collected information from every country around the world to create an exceptional online database for educators and homeschoolers. Their most recent addition to each country's page is "Proverbs" - the old sayings, expressions, or idioms commonly used. As it turns out, the College of Nursing here at Kudjip  is an epicenter of PNG cultural diversity. PFR 2022 & Testimony Video!

Dear Readers, We have just returned from an exciting weekend at the World Medical Mission annual conference Prescription for Renewal . This conference serves to provide CME credits for medical professionals interested in learning more about international medical missions work, while also inspiring their interest in serving abroad. This year's theme verse came from 1st Corinthians 15:58 - “ Therefore, my beloved brethren,  be steadfast, immovable,  always abounding in the work of the Lord,  knowing that your labor in the Lord  is not in vain . ” Many former and current missionaries attend the conference to give lectures, and this year they invited me to give two breakout lectures. The first covered the diagnosis and management of malnutrition while the second provided guidance on how to bring family into the mission field. Not coming back...Yet

We arrived in Papua New Guinea exactly 6 weeks ago today, and we moved quickly to make the most of every day. For as short a time as we would be spending here, we wanted every moment to count. We expected to depart this weekend, on April 19th ...then COVID happened... Countries closed their borders. Airlines grounded their international flights. Fear gripped the world. Over the last month we have watched the ebb and flow of emergency preparedness here in PNG, with variable levels of lockdown both nationwide and in our Jiwaka Province. As the rest of the world has wrestled to constrain the poison, we have steadily made preparations and prayed our efforts might remain unnecessary. This week a few more COVID cases have emerged in various areas around the country - which is more likely a representation of testing availability rather than actual case numbers.
